I am your host, Laura Lawrence, and we've got a great episode for you today. So today we're going to be talking about energy management. And so energy management for me is a practice that I do every single day, probably multiple times a day. It is something that I've struggled with my entire life. And I didn't know that this was the thing that I was missing in my life until I experienced it. So I have always been a highly sensitive child and now moved into adulthood and have always taken on a lot from the spaces around me. I am a projector for those of you who don't know that. And so projectors are only 20% of the world's population. And I was surrounded by a lot of generators and manifesting generators growing up in my life. And so because of that, I was always surrounded by this buzzing energy. I was always being conditioned, I was always taking on more than my nervous system could handle. And so that left me feeling depleted, feeling less than because I couldn't keep up all of the things. And so if you resonate with the term being highly sensitive, if you are a projector, a reflector manifester or even a generator or manifesting generator who has a lot of open energy centers, you will 100% resonate with this. Because you know that feeling of absorbing, of taking on the thoughts, the feelings of other people or the spaces going into a restaurant as an example, and there's just something about the energy in that room and you're like, I don't know what it is, but it just feels off. Or that feeling of you walk into a room and you know that two people have just been arguing and there's like this awkward tension you're absorbing, that you're sensing, that you're feeling that in your body, these situations or these environments or these people and what's going on in those spaces. So when we do this, when we're taking on a lot, it can bog us down. And so what we need to do is have these energy management practices that allow us to clear, allow us to ground, and allow us to protect our energy every single day so that we can be the highest versions of ourselves. Because when we take on too much, it basically bogs us down. So think of your energy field as if you're in your clearest, you've got this clear, crystal white energy field around you. But as the day goes on, you get these things stuck in your energy field. So you get sludge or debris or things like cords. Things just get stuck in your energy field throughout the day. And so instead of being this clear, bright, vibrant aura, it becomes dull and dark and dim because there's so much in it. And so what we need to do, like I said, is have these energy management practices so that we can become the highest versions of ourselves, that there are no blocks in our way. So today's episode, I really want to give you an understanding of what energy management is, why it's so important. Some ideas in terms of noticing when you might have a lot going on in your energy field that you need to clear. And then also do a practice with you so that you know how to do this on a daily basis. So like I said, I do this every morning and every night before I go to bed. I actually do it twice a day. And it has been a game changer for me because it's really gotten me to tap into what I'm picking up on throughout the day and being able to clear it and doing it myself. I'm going to tell you this right now. You don't need to go to an energy healer. You don't need to go to anyone to be able to do these basic practices. These are just day to day maintenance. And when you go to have energy clearings or energy healing sessions, these practices are the maintenance in between them. This is what's going to keep that, you know that feeling when you go to a healer or you go for any energy work, you just feel this like joy and lightness and all of the things. And so what these energy management practices do is basically keeps that glow. It's that maintenance. Like when you get your hair done, you get your highlights done in your hair and then you don't use the purple shampoo. And then the highlights turn all orange or yellow throughout the month. That's something that happens to me. So having that maintenance of having the purple shampoo, it's the same kind of thing. So without further ado, I want to dive into what energy management is. So really what energy management is, is being able to understand when you're being affected by other people and the environments around you. It's being able to clear ground, protect your energy from the environment adversely affecting you. So why is this so important? So energy management, so, you know that feeling of anxiety or stress or overwhelm and you're like, I don't know where this is coming from. There's nothing going on in my life. I feel like I'm picking up on something around me or I feel like I'm picking up on the people around me. And so when you're feeling things that you're like, this is not mine, I'm clearly picking up on someone else's. What energy management does is you've noticed, you've identified that you're picking up. So let's clear it and let's protect it from coming back or let's protect you from having this going forward or let's process this from your system, grounding yourself, transmuting whatever you've picked up and being able to go on with your life. This is really important. So the online space or the offline space. So on the online space, you know that feeling of scrolling your social media scrolling instagram and you scrolled it for five minutes and for whatever reason, you're feeling this, like heaviness in your chest or you're feeling you've picked. Up some sort of ideas or thoughts that this is a good idea because you're picking up on what other people are saying and their truths. And so we know that feeling of feeling depleted or less than after they call it doom scrolling a lot of the times. So you know that feeling after you've been scrolling social media. This energy management is going to help clear that, help ground yourself, help protect yourself from picking up on all of that. So basically it's reducing the impact of others thoughts, their opinions, their emotions, basically their energy impacting your energy. And so when we do this, when we clear this, when we are really truly in our own, we're building this greater connection with ourselves. There is nothing in the way of us connecting into our higher self, of us connecting into our intuition, our own compass. Because as we take on the things of others, it's basically bogging us down and we can't listen to our own inner voice. So this is helping us to build this unshakable trust in ourselves, in our decisions, in our intuition. And so it gives us this clear knowing of what our path is, what our purpose is. So if you're feeling like you're lacking purpose or you're lacking direction in life, being able to come back to your own energy field and your intuition is going to be a game changer for you. You're basically removing all of the blocks, all of the stuckness, all of that energetic debris that your aura has picked up on and you become highly magnetic, you attract incredible opportunities. It helps us to manifest because we're not being bogged down, because we don't have these blocks, because we have this clear field to invite in the opportunities, the invitations, all of the things that we so desire in our lives. And so there's three pieces to my personal energetic or my personal energy management practice. So one is clearing my energetic field. So having very simple practices for scanning my aura and clearing and removing the things that are stuck in there today, there's also grounding. So grounding is what allows us to connect in with Earth, gaia mother life force energy. And so Gaia helps transmute, helps remove, helps connect in with this life force energy that is so healing, that is so nurturing. And so for those of you who are intuitive or very connected to spirit, grounding is actually going to help heighten your gifts. We basically need to be grounded and in our bodies for us to truly connect with our gifts, with our purpose.
Laura Lorentz: And so when we're not fully connected.
Laura Lorentz: To our bodies and earth energy, that's when we feel this, like, pettiness. We get in our heads a lot. So grounding helps us be in our bodies and will help us to pick up on our intuition as well. So that's what grounding is. And then the third piece is protecting, so protecting your energetic body by reducing the sensitivity and minimizing any energetic blocks or rips or holes or tears in your auric field. So I haven't explained this. So our aura sits about three to 4ft around us. And so it is basically a protection mechanism in itself around our bodies, around our physical bodies. It is our energetic field. And we can get these holes, these rips, these tears in our auric field. And it can be caused by a whole bunch of different things. So it could be mental, physical, emotional or spiritual trauma that we've experienced in our lifetime. It could be from recreational drugs or alcohol. That's something that happens all of the time. So being conscious and mindful of participating in recreational drugs or alcohol, this has been something big, personally, that I have worked through and my relationship with alcohol and who I drink alcohol around as well. The more people that you're around when you are drinking or doing recreational drugs, the more potential energy that you're picking up on. And for someone who is energetically, sensitive, like, you're basically frying your wires when you're bringing on too much energy into your system. And alcohol is basically it removes all barriers, it removes any of the protection that you have. And so you're bringing in a lot because of that. When you have surgery as an example as well, that's something like childbirth, you are more susceptible to bringing in more.
Laura Lorentz: Energy into your energetic field.
Laura Lorentz: Food, what you eat, what you ingest in your body. So the more fruits and vegetables and healthy food that we eat, it not only nourishes our body, but energetically. It has such a huge impact in our auric field. The more that we eat junk and fried and processed foods, the less vibrant we feel, the less expansive our auras are. The other things that can impact us as well is past life. Vows, contracts, agreements, those are all huge things that I think I want to talk more about in this podcast, is how they are all impacting us and how we can clear them, how we can just basically untangle. This is like a big process for myself as an energy. Weaver, is helping people untangle these threads or untangle these cords that have them attached to other timelines, other people, other lifetimes that you've experienced. And so these also impact your energetic fields in a big way. Like I said, other people's energy, even your actions, the actions that you take, are also impacting the people in the spaces that you're around. So there are so many different things that can cause holes, rips, tears in our auric field. And so these are just what I listed off. Here are just some examples, there are more, but it just gives you an idea of how everyday life every day, being around other people, other spaces, other environments, the things that we go through in our lives are deteriorating. Our auric field and we want to rebuild that. We want to protect it, we want to clear it so that we can be the best and highest versions of ourselves. So basically the goal is to create these energetic boundaries around who, what, when others get access to you. This is foundational for all sensitive people to thrive, especially if you know that you're here to be of service.
Laura Lorentz: So for those of you who know.
Laura Lorentz: That you are here to be of service, you have an online business, you have a business, you are here to support other people. Like if you are a nurse, a doctor, a teacher, anyone that is in the business of serving people need to have these practices to be able to be the highest versions of theirselves and be able to bring their light in the most purest way in what they do. So I want to talk about some ways that you might know that your aura is being affected, so you might not right now. When I say cords and attachments and all of these things, you're like, laura, you are like ten steps ahead of me. I don't sense these things, I don't know these things. And that's okay, you don't have to sense these things, you don't have to know these things. But some things that you might know or pick up on right now is feeling tired or depleted for extended periods of time. You might just feel just exhausted, drained, like you're dragging yourself. And I say extended periods of time because usually it happens. We all go through cycles. Some days we're drained and exhausted just because of being busy in our lives or doing different things, or our kids or whatever. Actually that is a perfect example. Our children and how their energy and our energy intermingles and works together and what we pick up from our kids too. But if we're feeling tired or depleted for extended periods of time, you know that there's something bigger going on, that there's something that we need to work through. You could be having difficulty sleeping. You could be finding it hard to use your voice so that there's usually some sort of blockage in your throat when you're feeling anxiety or emotions for no particular reason. You're like, I don't know where this came from, then it's a good opportunity to know or look into what is impacting your aura, this feeling of ungrounded or disconnected. So when we're finding, like, we're in our heads a lot, you know, that mental pressure that we feel, or wanting to think through things a lot, or just feeling like, I've just got too much swirling in my brain. Your head is racing with tons of thoughts. That's another example. You feel heaviness in your chest or in other areas of your body. You might feel like you're in a pity party or feeling negative thoughts that you can't shake. You could have outbursts, feeling of anger, these feelings of resentment that might be uncharacteristic to you. You might feel like you're a pretty status quo, calm, cool, collected. But all of a sudden, it's like these outbursts come out. That's another example. Feeling like people are talking ill of you. This is a big one. This is psychic attack. So you're sensing and you're picking up on other people, whether they're jealous or whether you're not setting these boundaries around yourself for other people to talk about you. It's like in high school, like the mean girls always feeling like they're talking ill of you. And so it's really all about setting these energetic boundaries so that they don't even talk about you. So we talk a lot about psychic attack in the spiritual realm, but you actually don't have to experience psychic attack. If you've set really good, strong boundaries around yourself and have these energy management practices, these things won't happen. They just won't. When you have strong energy management, the things that bothered you in the past just won't happen. They won't happen because you have these boundaries. You could feel tugging in your body at the front or the back of you. You might feel this, like, being pushed or pulled in different directions. And you're like, I don't know which way to make a decision because you're feeling pulled in different directions. Like, all of those things are examples of your aura being affected. So I want to do a practice with you, really helping you to clear ground, protect in a very time efficient way. I know probably a lot of you that are listening to this podcast are moms, you have busy lives. You might be an entrepreneur or a corporate person or just a busy person in general. What I want to do is I want to make this easy for you. I want to make this simple for you. And it doesn't have to be something that you feel like you need to be a Reiki master to master this. So I want you to start by sitting with your feet on the ground. So I don't want you lying down. I want you sitting for this because we're going to be doing some grounding, and I want you to be able to feel your feet on the ground so you could even stand if that feels better for you. So standing or sitting and putting both.
Laura Lorentz: Feet firmly planted on the ground and.
Laura Lorentz: I want you to close your eyes now for me. If you are driving, please pause, please pause this podcast right now and do this in your own time when you're not operating a vehicle. I will say that right now. So if you're in a safe place.
Laura Lorentz: I want you to close your eyes and get comfortable. I want you to feel yourself releasing and sinking into your body. Release any stuckness or tightness that might be in your neck or your shoulders, any stuckness or tightness in your torso. Releasing any tension in your hips or your upper legs, your thighs, releasing any tension in your calves or your ankles all the way down to your feet. I want you to take in couple of big deep breaths now in through the nose and out through your mouth. Once more. In through your nose and out through your mouth. This practice that I'm going to teach you is going to be calling in Archangel Michael.
Laura Lorentz: Archangel Michael is someone that I work.
Laura Lorentz: With regularly in my healing practice, in my business in healings that I offer.
Laura Lorentz: To other people, but then also within my day to day practice.
Laura Lorentz: He's been someone who has come to.
Laura Lorentz: Me and been such a guide and.
Laura Lorentz: A shield for me in a lot.
Laura Lorentz: Of the work that I have done personally and professionally.
Laura Lorentz: And I know that he is here to support you as well.
Laura Lorentz: So what we're going to do, I.
Laura Lorentz: Want you to repeat after me archangel Michael, in the name of God, please come to me now. Feel, sense, see, know that he is there. Feel his warmth, his protection, his power, his grace surround you. Now he is going to act as our Gatekeeper and I'll go into Gatekeepers more probably in a future podcast, but Gatekeepers are going to change your energy.
Laura Lorentz: And spiritual practices for the better.
Laura Lorentz: So what we're going to do, we're going to start by clearing your energetic field. We're going to ask Archangel Michael to use his white disc of light to cleanse and clear your Auric field.
Laura Lorentz: So what's going to happen is you're.
Laura Lorentz: Basically going to visualize, sense or feel this white disc of light starting at your crown chakra at the top of your head and move all the way down your body, all the way to your feet and back up again. And this white disc of light is going to clear all low vibrational energy, stagnant energy, energetic debris that is stuck in your auric field. It is a quick and efficient way of clearing your energetic field and in.
Laura Lorentz: A very effective way.
Laura Lorentz: So right now you're going to ask Archangel Michael, please use your white disc.
Laura Lorentz: Of light to cleanse and clear all.
Laura Lorentz: Low vibrational energy from my peams, my chakras, my physical organs, auric field, astral body and light column for the next 12 hours. Now and as you say that.
Laura Lorentz: See.
Laura Lorentz: Feel, sense, or know that that white disc of light is coming down your body. Notice where it feels heavy, where there feels stuckness. Allow that white disc to hover. Where you feel that stuckness, allow it to absorb, to transmute, to suck up any of that low vibrational energy. Now imagine it going to your feet, and once it gets down to your feet, allow it to come back up your body to your crown. Once that is complete, now what we're going to do is we're going to ground your energy. We're going to do a practice that connects you to Gaia and also connects.
Laura Lorentz: You into spirit, into source. So what I'm going to ask you.
Laura Lorentz: To do, place your feet firmly on the ground and say, archangel Michael, in the name of God, please connect me to Gaia. Now visualize roots going deep from your feet into the ground. Picture those roots going as deep as they possibly can go through the layers, the soil, the rock, as deep into the Earth as it can go. And on your next inhale, I want you to inhale earth energy up through those roots, up through your legs, and I want you to stockpile it into your room center, into your sacral chakra. So on your next inhale, now take a big deep breath in and invite that Earth energy up through the roots, up through your legs, and into your womb space, right below your belly button. Notice what color that energy is. Is it green, is it blue, is it yellow? For me today it's very yellow. Oftentimes I see it as green, but for me today I see it as yellow. And allow that energy as you take more in breaths, invite more of that Earth energy into your womb space. Your womb space is a power center in your body. It is a great place to store and stockpile energy. It is a great place for healing, it is a great place for creativity.
Laura Lorentz: For your life force energy.
Laura Lorentz: So it is the perfect place to store earth energy because earth energy in itself is life force energy. So it is going to alchemize, it is going to transmute, it is going to sit in your body and move energy throughout the day. When you bring that Earth energy into your body, it's going to allow you to alchemize, to the frequency and the vibration of gaia. And on your next inhale, we're going to invite in source energy, higher self energy, your intuition, that connection to the universe. And so basically as you breathe in, you're going to visualize a light coming in through your head center. We're going to put it into your heart space. So on the next in, breath in, visualize sense, feel or know that light coming in through your head center and sitting in your heart space. You now have two energies in your body. You have Earth energy sitting in your room space, and you have source higher self energy sitting in your heart space. Notice what color that higher self energy is. And on your next exhale, so as you breathe in on your next exhale, you're going to actually push that higher self energy into your womb space and meet that Earth energy in your body. So on your next inhale, on your next exhale, push it down so you can visualize that swirling energy in your body, in your womb space. You've got universal energy and Earth energy in your body. Now, this is going to fuel you throughout the day. This should make you feel lighter. This should make you feel more vibrant.
Laura Lorentz: This energy is a fuel source.
Laura Lorentz: This energy is going to help guide you throughout the day. Very powerful stuff. And now we're going to protect your energy. So we've cleared your energy, we've grounded your energy, and now we're going to protect your energy.
Laura Lorentz: So we're going to ask Archangel Michael.
Laura Lorentz: In the name of God, please protect you or me with your blue cloak of protection. Please protect my peams, my chakras, my physical organs, and my auric field for the next 12 hours. Now feel Archangel Michael placing that cloak of protection around your body so that you are not adversely affected by the people, the spaces around you. Feel a wave of calmness. Feel what it feels like to be in your authentic energy, to be in your light, in your presence, without the impacts of other people spaces, low vibrational energy around you. This is a beautiful space to create. It's a beautiful space to just nurture yourself. It's a beautiful space to start your day just bask in this feeling. I'm going to invite you to open your eyes, wiggle your toes, come back into the space that you're in.
Laura Lorentz: Notice how you perceive the space differently, how clear your energy feels, how grounded.
Laura Lorentz: You feel, how light you feel.
Laura Lorentz: I love this. So this practice that I shared with you was obviously a little longer than five minutes, but once you start doing this more, it should not take you more than five minutes. Obviously. This recording, I was giving you some background on what it was, giving you some cues to see sense, feel, or know. Don't get hung up on that. I also want to say that don't get hung up on I don't see the white disk of light. I don't feel it. That's okay. We all have different ways of perception. And so for some of you, it might just be knowing that it's there. For some of you, you will feel it, for some of you, you will see it. We all have different Claires that are stronger. And so allowing that and trusting that when I command. So that's the one thing that I also want to touch on is when I said things like, archangel Michael, please come to me now. That was a command. And in this good girl or people pleasing environment that we live in, this world that we live in, we're not used to commanding. And so in the energetic space, commanding is a good thing. Commanding is showing that we have authentic power, is asking for help. We also don't like to ask for help when we are healing, when we are working in the energetic realm, in the energetic spaces, we need to command. We need to ask because our guides, our angels, the goddesses, whoever we're working with, our allies need to know what they need to do. We're directing them, we're telling them we have authentic power. They will not do anything unless we ask. And so in doing so, we need to command, we need to ask, we need to declare our power over our being, over our body, over the things that are happening in our lives. So when we are doing this energetic work, we need to command. So asking and saying like, Archangel Michael, I need you to do this for me. I need you to help me out. And so that's a big part of this work. But as we do this so the three things that we did today was we asked Archangel Michael to use his white disc of light. We brought in gaia, we brought in our higher self or universal energy. And then lastly, what we did was we asked Archangel Michael to use his blue cloak of protection. For some of you, you might ask for a bubble of protection. This is what I do. But trust your intuition.
Laura Lorentz: See what feels good, see what doesn't feel good.
Laura Lorentz: This is a starting point. This is a launch pad for how your intuition will develop and evolve. So start with this practice, start with my practice, see how it evolves, or if you have other practices that you want to bring into this. But I also wanted to touch on the fact that I said to protect.
Laura Lorentz: Myself for the next 12 hours.
Laura Lorentz: So the reason why you can't just ask for unlimited protection is because it doesn't work that way, is because we are constantly in other people's auras. We are constantly moving throughout the day. We're constantly in other spaces. There is so much going on energetically around us that you can't ask for exponential or unlimited infinity protection, because there is so much that these practices need to be done on a regular basis and noticing and picking up on what's going on around us. Another part of this is the recognition, is the noticing piece. It's like, okay, I'm feeling anxious. I need to ground and protect myself. I need to use my energy management practices.
Laura Lorentz: These things will come up.
Laura Lorentz: And so doing this twice a day to start will be great. Some days I might even do it three times a day. If I'm feeling like there's been a lot of energetic movement around me or I've been in busy spaces. I go into the office at work as an example and I'm around a lot of people and a lot of energy. These are things that I do at least morning when I wake up and before I go to bed. And you can play with this. Some people don't like doing it right before bed because they might feel a little buzzy or wiry when they bring in Archangel Michael. So maybe you do it 2 hours before bed and play with it. Some people, you might not have the time to do it right when you first get up because you've got kids. It might be when you start your workday or whatever it is, play with it, see what feels good, see what feels right for you. But these practices for me have been a game changer. And so I teach this in these energy management practices. I teach a broader course in Energetic Mastery. It's a course that I've run once that I'll be launching again in the fall. But this is giving you a taste of the practices that I teach and we'll go into a lot more of the theory behind it and why gatekeepers are so important and why we use allies to do this. There's so much to it. This is a quick introduction to energy management. And I'm so grateful that I get to share this work with so many people. Because the more people do this, the more amazing things we are going to bring to the world. The more visionaries are going to be able to birth their ideas, the more light workers are going to be able to share their light. It is so important, so powerful.
